Web Design and Web Marketing Samples
At Creative California, we pride ourselves on being able to meet the expectations of our clients not only in regard to quality, but also in meeting or exceeding deadlines. Here are some of the websites we’ve launched in 2015, as well as a sampling of the clients to whom we’ve provided marketing services:
Vamos Spanish Academy
If you want to learn a language, one of the best ways is through language immersion. Vamos Spanish Academy provides just that – a place to visit and learn the Spanish language and culture of Argentina. Some of the hardest workers we know run the school, and we’re honored to be helping them clean up some SEO issues. We’ve also built their newest website and would love for you to check it out!
Ashton & Price, LLP
Here in Sacramento, if you’ve ever listened to the radio or watched TV, you’ve heard the slogan, “For the best advice, don’t think twice. Call Ashton & Price.” Everybody’s heard it, but nobody has seen it on the internet. Ashton & Price has been around for a long time, but they haven’t had a strong web presence. We were brought on to work on that – to grow SEO visibility and online brand. We’ve launched the new website aimed at promoting professionalism and generating more traffic. Stay tuned for the long-term SEO results from our efforts.
A common issue we run into is small businesses who hired SEO firms in the past, and suffered penalties and a loss-of-traffic. This was the case with IR Environmental, so we worked with their team to build a new website aimed at converting, and trained them on how to market themselves and improve their SEO over time. We built and launched the site, and consult them whenever they need help with their online marketing efforts.
Bon Voyage Bed Bugs
One of the biggest challenges we face in design is to effectively get a message across, while not alienating an audience. This challenged reared its ugly head in the project for Bon Voyage Bed Bugs. Bed bugs are gross. Really really gross. When doing research, we ran across, almost exclusively, websites that had huge images of bugs and their effects – no thank you! One of our crew immediately turned away whenever she saw an image. So, how do we get the message across while not scaring away users? Check out the website to find out!
LoziLu Women’s Mud Run
The LoziLu Women’s Mud Run is a national race series focused on giving women an opportunity to join their friends and overcome obstacles, without the overbearing competitiveness of some of the larger mud runs. We were hired to manage the website, social media, and online marketing campaigns. We actively promote the series through all major social media sites, email campaigns, AdWords, media relations, and more.
Allure Aesthetics came to us after having several websites that were just not performing, though they had some with decent rankings for targeted keywords. Our goal was to create a site that not only ranked well, but also portrayed the quality of Allure’s sales and services. We built site (and manage it on an ongoing basis), actively work on SEO, and keep up with AdWords. After the site launch, the website immediately began generating leads and has seen great movement in a competitive market.
City Bicycle Co
City Bicycle Co is a great success story here in Sacramento. They started out by building custom bicycles in Davis, and have since expanded nationwide. Their products are attractive and affordable, so we were happy to help them market their products. We assist with marketing strategy, brand strategy, media relations, and online SEO.
Mountain Men Junk
Nic, the owner of Mountain Men Junk, is a great guy and a hard worker. Starting a small business is tough, and spending every day working on your physical business should be more important than trying to build a website without any previous experience. So we helped him develop his website he had originally envisioned, and now he can actively market and update it without anything breaking. He now generates leads from the site and has more time to do a great job hauling his customers’ junk now that he’s not dealing with a trashy website.
Nevada Corporate Associates, Inc
Nevada Corporate Associates has been around for a long time, helping businesses structure their companies to protect their assets in a competitive corporate landscape. We were hired to rebrand and rebuild their website, as the previous one had aged quite a bit. We built it, and continue to advise them on marketing strategies going forward.
Karry Home Renovations
Karry Home Renovations, formerly Karry Kitchens, hired the great design and branding team over at Spin Design Solutions to help rebrand their company image and build their website. While they are a great home renovation company that specializes in a range of services from kitchen renovations to closet solutions, their online presence didn’t properly reflect their skills and experience. We assisted Spin with making sure that the website fulfilled necessary SEO requirements, helped direct content and other design elements, and assist with ongoing SEO and PPC.
And More from 2014…
In business in the Sacramento area for over 40 years, Angelo’s has been a mainstay in foreign auto repair. They came to us, unhappy with their current marketing company and their search rankings falling, to rebuild the website and fix their decline in search rankings. They were in a hurry too, as they had a contract renewal coming up with the previous company and didn’t want to be left with their website shut off. We built a new site using best SEO practices and wrote all new content, and still launched on time. Now, the site is ranking for more keywords and in more targeted areas – and we’re continuing to clean up bad links, build new ones, and adjust the site to increase conversions and rank.
This site is a lead-generating site. Its focus is to provide quality information related to energy, and direct visitors to contact them for help with their energy rates. We built the site and wrote all of the content (quite a bit of it), and then used incorporated the style created by the client’s designers and brand experts (shout out to spinds.com for the design work). Literally the day after the site launched, it ranked top 3 for one of its main targeted keywords!
We admit, we don’t always close out sales (and sometimes don’t even get to have our coffee). The owners of the new race series, the FroYo 5K, had us on their list of potential web development companies, but ultimately didn’t hire us. However, we must have done something right, because about a month and a half later we received a panicked phone call – their old web firm “ran out of hours” and wouldn’t complete the site, and they were running ads in about a week to promote the unfinished site! We sprang into action and built the website from the ground up, using the client’s existing design files, and had the site ready to promote by the deadline. We won’t gloat. Instead, we’ll let the client do it for us: “Josh was terrific! He not only agreed to help us out, but was able to get a fully functioning website up and running for us in a week to meet our deadline. If you’re somewhat familiar with this industry, you know that is phenomenal. He was there to answer any questions we had and never complained about our pursuit for perfection that sometimes kept him up into early morning hours.” (review can be found on our Google+ page) – Thanks FroYo 5K!
We’ve also helped several companies with their marketing, design and SEO. Here’s a list of partners we’re actively helping:
The Local Bark – we currently do marketing, web and design consultancy. We’ve done photo shoots, branding materials, web support and more.
Digitron Electronics – we consult their in-house web team about SEO and have seen great results. From the client (found on Google+): “Josh goes above and beyond the scope of SEO, he’s a critical thinker and has an eye for small to medium sized business development.”
The Bourbon Review
Established in 2008, The Bourbon Review has a long-running partnership with us. We’ve been there since the beginning – from designing the first iteration of the now-popular print publication, to establishing their brand and online presence. Currently, The Bourbon Review is distributed internationally in print and on mobile devices, and has a large active following. Their Facebook page is the most active in the industry, and they’ve branched out to host a number of events and make it known across the country that Bourbon is a spirit that can be loved by all. We’re proud of our partnership and actively work to continuously improve their publication, brand, and more.
Premier Pools & Spas
The nation’s largest pool builder, Premier Pools and Spas enlisted our help to upgrade their brand, develop a new website, and increase lead generation. Beginning with the brand, we upgraded the logo to look more natural and clean while retaining their trademarked images and designs. We then created guidelines for all locations nationwide to follow, so that their brand would have recognition and a unique identity – it’s difficult to stand out in an industry where every single company brands itself with blue colors and water. We also developed the website from scratch, keeping in mind best SEO practices and content generation. And most importantly, we made various changes and updates after studying their market and customer base to increase leads up to 30% year-over-year in a difficult industry.

Innovative Education Management
A more complex project, IEM enlisted our help to build not only a new front-end website that would be cleaner and more modern, but to also develop a back-end system where teachers could log in and have access to shared files and documents. Their new system allows each teacher (they have hundreds statewide) to have a unique login, as well as a customized company intranet system, in which they can access files, forms and other resources, according to their location. This allows for better communication company-wide, as well as improved workflow. Also, their tech staff can more easily make changes and updates to the website as a whole thanks to the incorporation of a CMS system.
Kobayashi Law Office
Our friends at Kobayashi Law Office are great at what they do – specializing in immigration law. But when Lisa Kobayashi came to us to inquire about websites and SEO, their office didn’t know where to even begin. We offered a free consultation and plan of action to show up in search results (they’d had a website for several years, but it wasn’t ranking for any relevant keywords). Afterward, they hired us to develop a new website with a focus on SEO. We built the website while keeping the brand and feeling of the company intact, and wrote all of the content. Almost immediately after it went live, they began to rank for hundreds of keywords. We continue to actively work on their SEO and monitor rankings daily, looking for opportunities to generate leads in a very competitive online environment (law is one of the most contested business categories online).
Gateway Travel in Madera, California, found themselves in a bind: the company that built their old website and hosted their email server disappeared. Even before the servers that hosted their site and email were shut down, Gateway had experienced perpetual email problems for years. We helped them transfer their domain to their ownership, set up a secure and stable email server, and built a website that allowed them to offer wide variety of information, and highlight notable travel photos. This was all done on a time crunch, because with every day that went by, they risked losing business leads through email and on their website.
