Prioritizing and Maintaining our Own Blog
Most agencies identify with the fact that internal promotion and projects, like a company blog, get pushed to the bottom of the daily task list. Clients are king, of course. Knowing this, we at Creative California have a schedule for our blog posts for each of our team members. A little structure goes a long way when investing in your own firm and sharing your expertise.
Social Media and Timing
My designated day for publishing a blog is Friday, where I once believed content goes to die. I now understand that each platform requires a different mood and subsequently, there are no rules that completely define entire days for the entire world of social media. Rather, there are content trends you’ll notice on certain platforms. For example, Instagram on a Saturday or Sunday morning is just all brunch and leisure. People are in the mood to ogle at activities that help them revel in America’s favorite pastime. No, not baseball — the weekend! Other platforms prime for the weekend include Pinterest and Snapchat. If you’re staying in for the weekend, pinning for hours on end is a relaxing way to spend your time, while still getting ideas for house projects. For those out and about, Snapchat is perfect for sharing weekend shenanigans. Although many have identified with the notion of there not being a “perfect” time to post, there are still plenty of infographics detailing just that.
Which Brings Us to Friday…
All this being said, in general — and I realize that such a phrase is alien in the world of social media, where everything is variable and shifting — in general, Fridays are for good times and laughs. So, we thought we’d share a few links that amuse us, inform us, and just make us laugh. We come across a lot of entertaining information while we’re out there on the web developing content, so here is our curated list of things you should know about, both goofy and newsworthy.
