About Josh Rubin
A California native, Josh attended college in Kentucky, and in 2003 began his graphic and web design career at a real estate publication, while freelancing as a web developer and online marketer. In 2009, he returned home and founded Creative California after seeing the common issues that companies deal with when hiring designers: communication, deadlines, professionalism, and a focus on money instead of purpose. Since then, Josh has worked to become an SEO expert and marketer, offering insight and advice to his clients, often giving them the much needed "kick in the pants" to get a better grasp of their marketing. His passion is to see Sacramento businesses excel in a city and region constantly hit by negative press as not being "business-friendly." He enjoys fanatically following the 49ers, Bourbon, and making countless puns, much to the chagrin of his co-workers.

Like many of our customers, Joe was a repeat client. We originally helped him build a website for his women's mud run race series in Autumn of 2014.

We were originally contracted in the Fall of 2014 to build EnergyRates, a site designed to help business owners and residential customers in Canada find the best rates for their electricity and natural gas needs.
It was a challenging job that required a lot of research on our end, but the work came together without a hitch, and Joel went away happy. But months later, Joel called us up again out of the blue, asking us for more help. While the site looked and worked great, he knew that the site wasn't getting the views and public attention that it deserved.
So we went to work finding opportunities for generating publicity and organic backlinks. EnergyRates quickly started gaining momentum, is now ranking competitively for every search keyword that we targeted, and most importantly, is seeing a marked increase in conversions.
